Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have broken up after six years 

Taylor Swift’s relationship from her now-former boyfriend Joe Alwyn was seemingly very different from all her previous lovers.

Even after six years of dating, the former couple fiercely protected their relationship from the media however in a few instances where details of their relationship slipped up, Swift revealed that Alwyn was completely different as she gushed over him.

In her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, Swift said in 2020: "I was falling in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life."

"We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private. I was happy. But I wasn’t happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else’s input. We were just happy."

However all of  that has since come to a screeching halt after it emerged over the weekend that the pair had amicably split

Entertainment Tonight revealed that their split "was not dramatic".

The source elaborated that reasons for their relationship ending was because "the relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows."

Swift's relationship with the Boy Erased star began in 2016 and the couple seemed to be "very happy" in their relationship.

"He is her rock. Their relationship is mature and wonderful," the source added.

Their bond eventually made its way into Swift's music as the duo ended up collaborating during the Covid-19 pandemic on her 2020 sister albums Folklore and Evermore.

Alwyn has songs like Betty and Exile from Folklore as well as Champagne Problems, Evermore and Coney Island from Evermore to his name as co-writer.

It ended up being a fruitful collaboration as Swift won a Grammy Award for Folklore being  Album of the Year.

In her acceptance speech Swift gave a shoutout to Alwyn, "Joe is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine."
