Taylor Swift, who is known for dropping easter eggs, has seemingly hinted at her breakup with Joe Alwyn a week before the world knew.
The 33-year-old, who is currently on her Eras Tour, had alluded to her status as a single woman when she replaced her song Invisible String, a love letter to her former beau, with The 1 in her setlist in her March 31 tour show in Arlington, Texas.
This did not go unnoticed after eagle-eyed fans put two and two together to conclude that Taylor was indeed directing her fans towards her split.
"Realising why Taylor switched out invisible string for the 1," one fan captioned a TikTok video where she was crying to the lyrics, "It would’ve been fun if you would’ve been the one."
"This was not the Easter egg I was hoping for this weekend," another wrote which was accompanied by a caption that read, "changing invisible string to the 1 may have been more intentional then [sic] we thought but i also refuse to believe its [sic] true."
A third person wrote, "Realising the breakup might be why Taylor switched the setlist from invisible string to the 1."
Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn break up
It emerged during the weekend that the pair had split after six years of dating.
Entertainment Tonight revealed that their split was amicable and that "it was not dramatic".
The source elaborated that reasons for their relationship ending was because "the relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows."
Swift and the Boy Erased star began dating in 2016 and their relationship seemed to be a happy one as a source told People that she is "very happy" in their relationship.
