After news of Ariana Grande’s relationship with Ethan Slater made headlines, the singer’s rather troubling romance with Naya Rivera’s ex-fiancé Big Sean began to resurface.
The late actress had candidly shared how she was not fond of Grande in her book Sorry not Sorry after finding the Thank U, Next hitmaker at Big Sean’s house while he was still in a relationship with Rivera.
Insinuating Grande of being the ‘other woman’ in the relationship, Rivera recalled things going downhill for her and Big Sean in the leadup to the discovery: "We’d been fighting for five straight days while he was traveling, and then on the one day that he was back in L.A., he said he didn’t want to see me."
"'Well, a hole, I’ve got a key to your house,'" the actress wrote about her thought process.
"I walk in, go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music? … It rhymes with 'Smariana Schmande.'"
This rumour was then confirmed when Grande began dating the rapper after Rivera’s breakup in April 2014.
Speaking of her own breakup with Big Sean, Rivera expressed how she had no say in their relationship.
"I learned that I was no longer getting married from the internet, and at the same time as the rest of the world," Rivera wrote in her memoir about the statement that Big Sean's publicist issued regarding their split.
"Not only were we no longer getting married, but apparently we weren’t even together anymore."
These rumours come in line with talks of Grande being the 'other woman' once again in her latest relationship with Slater.
It was reported that she and Slater began dating despite the latter being married to his wife Lilly Jay at the time.
The two first met on the set of Wicked and had a romance brewing for months with Slater gushing over his wife as recently as two months ago.
