‘Harry Potter’ is back at Hogwarts.
At HBO Max, a "Harry Potter" TV series is presently under production.
HBO Max and Discovery+ will officially be united into a new service called simply Max, it was announced during Warner Bros. Discovery's presentation to the media and investors on April 12.
On April 3, information about a TV series based on the popular J.K. Rowling book series first surfaced, but it has now been confirmed.
The project, dubbed a "decade-long series" by Warner Bros. Discovery, will be based on one of the franchise's books for each season. An entirely new cast from the movies will appear in it.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” the chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, Casey Bloys said.
“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”
Together with Bront Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television, Max will produce. Along with Ruth Kenley-Letts and Neil Blair, Rowling will serve as executive producer. Executive producing is currently being discussed with David Heyman.
“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series,” said Rowling.
