Dua Lipa is levitating in the deep sea.
Dua Lipa has officially been cast as a mermaid doll in Greta Gerwig's eagerly awaited Barbie live-action movie, joining an all-star cast of actors.
A series of cheerful first-look movie posters showcasing close-ups of each cast member wearing a flawlessly plastic outfit were used to announce the news on Tuesday morning (April 4).
In her solo photograph, Dua is seen posing in front of a glittering purple background while sporting a vivid blue wig and an identical seashell bra.
Although the scaly fishtail of the "One Kiss" singer is barely visible, the poster's statement, "This Barbie is a mermaid," serves as sufficient proof.
Dua's involvement in Gerwig's most recent film, which stars Margot Robbie as the legendary title character, has long been suspected.
Fans first discovered the chart-topping pop musician was being followed by the movie's official Instagram page back in December, in addition to just a small number of other persons believed to be engaged with the project.
It's yet unknown whether Dua will contribute music to the Barbie soundtrack. By the time the film opens in theatres on July 21, confirmation should be available.
