TV presenter and comedian Paul O’Grady has passed away aged 67.
The news was confirmed by his husband Andre Portasio, who revealed that the BBC Radio 2 alum died “unexpectedly but peacefully.”
The television personality has had a rich career, from embodying drag to making people laugh from the stage, Paul O’Grady was also a fiery dog lover.
"It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening," Mr. Portasio said.
"He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals, and all those who enjoyed his humor, wit, and compassion.
"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."
Wife of the current monarch of Britain also released a statement following the grim news, expressing that she was "deeply saddened to have learned of the death of Paul O'Grady, whose warm heart and infectious humor lit up the lives of so many.”
Camilla worked closely with the television personality "to support the work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home."
A rep for the Queen noted that she will be "sharing her sympathies with Paul's family privately in due course".
