German scientists have honoured Keanu Reeves after naming a fungus-killing bacteria after him.

Sebastian Götze, who is a researcher at Germany's Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology elaborated that the compound named keanumycins reflected the actor’s deadliness in his respective roles.

"The lipopeptides kill so efficiently that we named them after Keanu Reeves because he, too, is extremely deadly in his roles," Sebastian said.

To elaborate, keanumycins is a compound that fights against "plant fungal diseases and human-pathogenic fungi" as per People.

"It is harmless to plant and human cells, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical pesticides," as per the press release.

Keanu Reeves takes it 'too far' with John Wick: Chapter 4

Keanu is known for performing most his stunts by himself and in preparation for John Wick: Chapter 4 the actor seemingly took it "too far".

"It’s been about 12 weeks of training. It’s new levels of action," he said while speaking to Variety.

"You know, nun-chucks, which was challenging…’ John Wick’ action asks just a little bit more. And you see the effort and the commitment from the team."

Reeves added, "'John Wick: Chapter 4' has the most action of any of the John Wick films, which is saying a lot. And it’s more by a good margin. It’s a big show… 'John Wick: Chapter 4' was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox."
