LeBron James, basketball star, misses more playtime due to leg injury

LeBron James will be sitting on the sidelines for some time.

The 38-year-old star of the Los Angeles Lakers was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks and will not play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.

In addition, the basketball player was overheard indicating that he "heard a pop" during a non-contact fall during play.

James was able to return during Sunday's game, helping the Lakers to a 111-108 victory. But, Lakers Coach Darvin Johnson told reporters after the game that James was scheduled to receive another evaluation the following morning.

The Athletic received confirmation from league sources that James could miss "several weeks."

On Monday, James updated his followers with a picture of his bandaged foot and ankle, writing simply, "Fkn sucks!!!!" in the comment.

The long-time basketball player is in the middle of a career-high when the injury occurs.

During a party thrown by Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal, Savannah informed James, "You are the hardest-working person I know."
