Da Brat is going to be a mother!

The 48-year-old rapper confirmed that she is expecting her first child with wife Jessica “Judy” Harris-Dupart to People on Tuesday.

"It's been quite a journey," Da Brat expressed, adding that at 48, "there's a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40."

The Chicago native revealed that their road to motherhood began around the time they got married last year in February after they launched a hair product collaboration with a cheeky tagline.

"It started as a joke, we were like, 'We're extending our family!'” she told the media outlet. "But then we got a huge response. It was like, 'Oh my God do we want to actually have kids, and if we do, girl, we better hurry up!'”

While Judy is already a mother of three from her prior relationships, Da Brat claimed that she never thought she was going to have kids.

"I just thought it wasn't in the cards for me. I've had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn't get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn't going to happen for me."

While the rapper urged that she wanted a “little me” with the hair beauty mogul, Da Brat explained that she was never keen on the idea of carrying a child.

Da Brat's Heartbreaking Miscarriage:

Although Judy eventually ended up convincing the rapper, their first pregnancy did not come easy as the latter revealed that they suffered a miscarriage before the current pregnancy.

"I had never been so excited about something that I didn't even know I wanted," shared Da Brat. "I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me."

Luckily, the pair still had a few of Da Brat’s eggs left and they went ahead with the process all over again.

As they are along 18 months into the second trimester, the rapper gushed, "It's just a blessing. I'm excited!”

"I don't have any cravings or nausea," she noted, "but I'm always sleepy. It's crazy!"
