Trial date set for lawsuit against Meghan Markle by sister Samantha

Florida judge has given a trial date for Samantha Markle to pursue her lawsuit against Meghan Markle.

The trial is set to begin on October 02, 2023. However, it will only be the case lest the sisters fail to reach a settlement over false claims and defamatory statements.

Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha had filed a $75,000 lawsuit against the Duchess of Sussex for comments she made during the Winfrey interview, and for information in Finding Freedom. Meghan said she and Samantha were “virtual strangers” and she grew up “as an only child.” Samantha is calling these stories false and defamatory.

Meghan’s attorneys argue the duchess didn’t write Finding Freedom at all, and the statements made to Winfrey were obviously emotionally driven and not meant to be viewed as objective fact.

They also claim her comments have been robbed of context.
